Recycling Plan

Recycling means life...

The inappropriate handle of solid residue can cause a large number of environmental impacts, such as climate changing, soil degradation and contamination, water polution, proliferation of vectors with sanitary importance, flood effects potentialization on urban centers and others. Facing this potential prejudice, becomes very important to define and execute the appropriate discard of substances in order to guarantee the correct destination to solid residue.

Brazil produces about 240,000 tons of garbage daily. A large part of this is inappropriate discarded on dumping ground. According to the Institute of Applied Economical Research (Ipea), there are about 2,906 dumping ground centers in Brazil, split on 2,810 cities, which only 18% execute official selective garbage collect programs.

The environmental responsibility is one of the priorities of Vivace Process Instruments. Through a Recycling Plan, the company offers an appropriate final destination for its unnecessary products and materials, carefully discarding them in order to attend the Solid Residue National Policy (PNRS), established in 2010 with the principle to discipline solid residue management in the country through the reverse logistics system.

PNRS goals:

  • I-public health and environmental quality protection;
  • II-absent of generation, reduction, reuse, recycle and treatment of solid residue, as well as the appropriate residue final disposal;
  • III-stimulate the adoption of sustainable patterns of production and consumption of materials and services;
  • IV-adoption, development and upgrading of clean technologies as a way to minimize environmental impact;
  • V-reduction of volume and dangerousness of hazardous residue;
  • VI-stimulate the recycling industry in order to use raw material and inputs derived from recycling substances;
  • VII-solid residue integrated management;
  • VIII-integration of several public sectors with enterprises to achieve technical and financial cooperation on the solid residue integrated management;
  • IX-continuous technical training on solid residue area;
  • X-regularity, continuity, funcionality and universialization of public services on urban clearness and solid residue handle, adopting economical and management mechanisms to assure the payback of services costs, as a way to guarantee operational and financial sustainability, according to law act n.11.445, 2007.
  • XI-priority on government acquisition and hiring of:
    • a) recycled products;
    • b) materials and services that consider compatible criteria with patterns on social consumption and sustainable environments;
  • XII-integration of reused material catchers on actions that involve shared responsibility for the life cycle of products;
  • XIII-stimulation of product life cycle evaluation;
  • XIV-incentive to the development of enterprise and environment management systems focused on the improvement of production processes and the reuse of solid residue, including use and recover of energy;
  • XV-stimulation to environmental labeling and sustainable consumption.

Vivace Process Instruments has created its Recycling Plan in order to stimulate customers to use selective discard, by offering a reception point of the Vivace products on Cravinhos-SP unit.Customers can send the disposal products followed by the transport invoice (shipping costs are customer responsibility). Those products must be identified on the invoice, on Additional Data (Dados Adicionais) field, specifying that products are destinated to discard and/or State/Federal legal prevision.

After products are received, an initial screening is executed, splitting the reusable material and classifying it as metal, electric component, battery, cable/wire, plastic, rubber, glass or package. Later, those materials will be sent to reprocessing specialized companies, where the discarded material will suffer the correct treatment.
